Chris Jackson


Chris is the founder and CEO of Protium, and the Chairman of the UK Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Association. Chris originally began working on hydrogen through the World Bank, where his research helped secure the Bank’s first internal funding for Hydrogen & Fuel Cell research in over a decade. Subsequently Chris became an advisor to colleagues within the World Bank and IFC on hydrogen and fuel cell projects.

Chris previously worked for JLT Group, where he worked inside the International Network and JLT’s Energy & Marine division. He has worked for one of the UK’s leading renewable energy project developers, as well as for Venture Capital firms in London and Israel. He holds a Masters in Energy, Finance and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a first class BA honours from the University of York.

Chief Investment Officer

Marco Dell’Aquila


Marco is an investor, adviser, developer, author and professor with 27 years’ experience in the energy sector.

He founded and chairs Power Capital, a financial advisory firm which has won mandates of c. €13 billion since 1997. Marco is also Adjunct Professor of Energy, Resources and Environment at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies and the co-founder of Inspiratia, a UK based Energy and Infrastructure data & analysis provider.

He co-founded Infrastructure Journal (now IJ Global) in 1997, which became the pre-eminent global online data & analysis provider to the infrastructure and energy sectors; Marco acted as its Editor-in-Chief until 2007. In the 1990s, he was an Executive Director of General Electric Capital’s projects group based in London, developing and investing in energy projects in the EMEA region.


Michael Jackson


Michael Jackson MA FCA is the founder of Elderstreet Investments Limited, one of the UKs oldest venture capital firms and remains its executive chairman. For the past 24 years, he has specialised in raising finance and investing in the smaller companies quoted and unquoted sector. Mostly in the UK tech and industrial sectors.

From 1987 until 2006, Michael was chairman of FTSE 100 company The Sage Group plc, and today he is a director of Elderstreet portfolio companies Fords Packaging Systems Limited, Macranet Limited and Access Intelligence plc.


Jack Eastwood


An experienced consultant, Jack spent four years working for KPMG in the Middle East working on a variety of consulting projects, including KPMG’s flagship PPP transformation project with the Saudi Ministry of Labour. A capable data analyst Jack oversaw the jobseeker database and performance reporting processes for the project, ultimately streamlining them to increase efficiency and reduce the error rate. As a key resource for KPMG Saudi Jack was transferred to a high-profile due diligence for the Saudi Public Investment Fund on their acquisition of a large power and water company, conducting operational and financial model reviews in preparation for the final report.

Returning from the Middle East in 2017 Jack leveraged his consulting experience founding and growing startups; bringing structure to the companies he worked for and developing and executing various strategies across the businesses. Jack’s addition to Protium will support the team as it delivers its feasibility studies to clients and seeks to grow its footprint within the industry.


Grant Myers


Grant is an experienced Project Manager with over 8 years of successfully managing end-to-end medium to large scale EPC Energy Projects, worth over £100mil. This includes working for Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems during the procurement, delivery, construction and commissioning phases of the 9GW Medupi and Kusile Power Plants in South Africa. He has also worked on 20MW biomass projects and waste heat recovery systems.

Grant has extensive Technical Project Management experience, formed during his tenure at Mitsubishi’s German office. He led multiple cross-functional teams in the design, optimisation and integration of high value, complex engineering solutions, which improved plant efficiency and profitability. 

He holds an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and is a fully accredited Prince2 Practitioner.

Dr Theo Chronopoulos


Theo is a PhD Chemical Engineer with hands-on experience in decarbonising the energy sector and strong knowledge of electricity and heat markets. Theo has worked as R&D Project Engineer for Doosan Babcock leading projects on H2 fuel cells, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), as well as energy storage systems. He was also member of the Open Innovation team, focusing on future low carbon energy development, external relationships and opportunities for investment decisions. Theo later worked as a Lead Engineer for Atkins Ltd. with main responsibility to provide engineering solutions in projects related to the transition to Net Zero, from bid phase to technical delivery. He has been the technical lead and Project Manager in projects related to blue/green H2 production, large scale CCS, stationary H2 fuel cells, compressed air systems, district heating networks and energy storage systems. Theo holds a PhD on CCS from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, where he also completed his MSc on Sustainability Engineering. He has been very active in exchanging knowledge and technical expertise, publishing his work in peer reviewed journals and presenting in relevant conferences.

Bhavita Lacmane


Bhavita Lacmane is a Project Analyst for Protium, where she plays a crucial role in supporting modelling, research and business development for the company. Prior to Protium Bhavita spent a year working in the Manufacturing Excellence department for Nestle Cereals, where she consulted and advised System Engineers and Quality Assurance teams, alongside several continuous improvement projects throughout her placement. Her versatile role meant she understands the inner workings of most manufacturing sites and brings an analytical mind, strong work ethic and creative thinking to the Protium team. She holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath.

Patrick Molloy


Patrick Molloy is a Senior Associate, Industry And Heavy Transport at Rocky Mountain Institute and a recognized analyst and commentator on Hydrogen applications for Heavy Industries. He has been broadly published in the clean energy media and currently co-hosts the Everything about Hydrogen podcast. Prior to working in energy Patrick worked in Irish and European politics. He is a graduate of University College Dublin and The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.


Dr Enass Abo-Hamed


Enass is the co-founder and CEO at H2GO power ltd; an award-winning spin-out company from the University of Cambridge developing energy storage technologies. She completed her PhD at Cambridge University, where she also was a postdoctoral fellow and elected Cambridge University Energy Champion. Currently she is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow and a technology expert consultant to European Commission (REA) .

She has 10 years of research and business experience in hydrogen production & storage, catalysis, renewable energy and energy storage. Enass won the visionary of the year award by MIT Tech Review Innovators Under 35 Europe, the best energy start-up award at the Global Hello Tomorrow Summit and others. In 2015, she was selected by the Cartier women’s initiative awards as one in 18 best women entrepreneurs globally.


Dr Jenifer Baxter


Dr Jenifer Baxter joined The Institution of Mechanical Engineers as Head of Energy and the Environment in May 2015 and moved into her current position at the beginning of 2020. Jenifer is Chief Engineer at the Institution, responsible for quality assurance and engineering knowledge management, providing thought leadership, working with members, public affairs activities and is an expert engineer to the media and government covering all mechanical engineering subjects and specialises in energy, transport and the environment.  Jenifer is also Head of the Communication and Marketing Services at the Institution bringing a joined-up approach to engineering and member experience.

Jenifer has a PhD from Cardiff University examining hydrogen from waste technologies, an MSc in Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy and a BEng in Environmental Engineering also from Cardiff University. Jenifer is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, IOM3 and is a Chartered Engineer and Scientist.


Mark Henderson


Mark is a highly experienced infrastructure finance investment banker, with particular experience in the renewable energy, sustainability and power sectors. He is currently the Chief Investment Officer of GridServe, the first UK developer of subsidy free Solar PV and battery storage projects.

Internationally experienced, in both emerging markets and western Europe, where he has advised on, structured and financed over £1 billion and 3,000MW of infrastructure energy projects. Mark established and ran the mezzanine lending team for power and renewables at Investec and the cleantech & renewables sector for private equity firm LDC. Currently chair of the board of trustees and the investment committee for Pure Leapfrog, a community energy charity that provides funding and professional support for low carbon, high social impact projects. 

Mark is a well-known member of the London clean energy community and regular conference speaker, Mark has also been invited to write and contribute articles to a number of specialist financial publications.


Peter Ramm


Peter is a highly experienced Entrepreneur and Engineer within the energy field. He is a Founding Shareholder and Executive Board Member of Advanced Power AG (www.advancedpower.ch) a business that develops, structures and finances low carbon electricity in Europe and North America. Since its formation nearly 4,000MW of projects developed by Advanced Power have been constructed and Advanced Power continues to manage 3,000MW having raised in excess of $4bn of construction capital. During 35 years in the power industry Peter has been involved in all aspects of the power industry including the manufacturing, development construction and operation of power plants. Peter has a deep knowledge of the European Energy system and supports conferences within this field as an Advisory Board member of the Enlit conference team and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
